Indiana New Educator Preparation Program Application

The NEI NEPP is a comprehensive, multifaceted new teacher experience, designed to deliver the participant pedagogy and opportunity to collaborate and learn from teachers in the same or related areas. The experience is designed to pair research on effective learning environments for students connected to classroom design and teaching strategies, with both training modules and targeted feedback to the new educator.

Online coursework is delivered with classroom application asynchronously, but which are taken by the new educator during a specific timeframe. Each course will be delivered through an online format by a module instructor. New educators will work through courses based on student-centered learning and effective learning environments. Each course will outline strategies for the new educator to carry out in the classroom under the direction of their instructional coach and mentor for that specific area. Modeling and observations of other teachers who are masterful in each area will be used as needed to grow the practice of the new educator.

Secondary Education Candidates

Baccalaureate degree from an accredited postsecondary educational institution in the subject that the individual intends to teach with a grade point average of at least 3.0 on a4.0-point scale.Graduate degree from an accredited postsecondary educational institution in the subject or related field in which the person wants to teach.Both a baccalaureate degree from an accredited postsecondary educational institution in the subject area that the individual intends to teach with a grade point average of at least 2.50 on a 4.0 scale, and five (5) years of professional experience.Both a baccalaureate degree from an accredited postsecondary educational institution, and proof of passing state approved content area examination(s) in the subject area.
